Snake Temple, Bayan Lepas, Penang
Situated on the right side of the Snake Temple grounds is the Snake Farm. Its star attraction is its prized albino python called Goldie. Goldie is 14ft long and weighs 60 kg and it has to be carried by at least 2 persons.
The Snake Farm is open daily from 9.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the booth situated at the entrance to the Farm and they are priced as follows:-
Malaysian identity card holders – Rm3/- for adults and Rm1/- for children
Non-Malaysians – Rm5/- for adults and Rm3/- for children
If there is a crowd, then visitors are treated to a Snake Show and the main feature of this show is kissing a baby cobra and a King Cobra by L. H. Teoh and H. P. Chew respectively.
I was lucky enough to witness this impromptu Snake Show and believe it or not, it is more difficult than kissing a girl. The timing has to be right and I would caution readers not to try this on your own. It is very dangerous and if one gets bitten by a venomous cobra, one needs to seek medical help within 45 minutes or else the consequences may be fatal.

A WORD OF CAUTION – PLEASE DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME – IT IS VERY DANGEROUS AND ANY BITE MAY PROVE TO BE FATAL

Monkey grooming man? For bonding purposes? Beware of this cheeky monkey – stand near his cage and you get your hair pulled (I had mine pulled!)
